My Aunt has the neatest way to keep critters out of your raised beds. She made this simple lift off frame with 1×1 and chicken wire. They let her easily access her Square Foot Garden but keep all the Tennessee critters out of her veggies! Not bad for a Long Island transplant out in the wilds of Tullahoma, TN!

For the past several weeks I’ve been using rubber snakes and they’ve worked really well. Prior to the snakes it looked like a mini minefield had gone off in my garden each day from the squirrels. Now I can sometimes tell something’s been there, but nowhere near the activity as before.
Little rubber snakes, $1 each at the dollar store.

Love the idea! It would lead to some good fun if you send the uninformed over to the garden. . .
