A Get Home Bag a valuable addition to your Preparedness plans. It is filled with the tools and supplies that you might need in the event that you have to get home in the midst of an emergency. The freak Blizzard of 2013 and the Ice Storm that ravaged the South Eastern United States recently are excellent examples of where a Get Home Bag can come in handy. Check out Part 1 of my Assembling a Get Home Bag series.
Assembling A Get Home Bag Part 2:
Wrap-up
A Get Home Bag isn’t a 3 Day Assault Pack by any means. It is the gear and supplies that get you home to your gear and supplies, building one is also a great way to get your feet wet in the world of preparedness. I pack mine for an unexpected night in my car. Recent weather events have borne out the need for one. . .don’t get caught short!

Hey Mike nice job with the video. I love to see everyone’s bags.
I loved when you said your wife tried the cleaning stuff & she was a trooper – we’ve tried the Astronaut Shampoo, you can find it at CVS, Rite Aide etc it’s not too bad.
The other one I liked was when you talked about the bars you keep because if you have jerky you eat it. That is so me, I can’t keep granola bars because I love them, so I keep peanut butter bars for hikers (cant think of the brand) since I don’t like them but I’d eat them if I needed to.

Glad you liked the video. I’ll have to look for the Astronaut Shampoo, we’re going on an early camping trip this year and hopefully I can rope my wife into trying it out ๐
