Chocolate From Scratch
Following along with my theme of homestyle cooking, I was lucky enough to have my wife make a chocolate cake from scratch. I must have done something REALLY good in the past to deserve her! It is pretty nice to live with someone who can whip up a cake out of pantry items. Well enough kissing up here is the recipe.

- – 1 3/4 c. all purpose flour
- – 3/4 c. cocoa
- – 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- – 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- – 1 tsp. salt
- – 2 eggs
- – 1 c. milk
- – 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- – 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 c. boiling water
The Recipe
- Pre-Heat oven to 350 and grease and flour two 9″ round baking pans
- Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl
- Add eggs, oil, milk, and vanilla. Beat on a medium for 2 minutes.
