This is my take on an Easy Grill Bread. I use the same dough recipe as my Homemade Pizza Dough but instead of rolling it out into a pizza pie I cut it into quarters and make small balls out of it. I then roll the balls flat on a lightly floured surface. I try to get them as thin as I can without letting them tear.

I lightly oil them and put them oiled side down onto a hot grill pan. I grill it until it starts to firm up and brown slightly, then I brush a bit more oil onto it a flip it.
I’ve been using a pan to press the grill bread down onto to the hot grill to speed up the cooking a bit. I give it another minute or so and remove it from the heat. We like to eat them with grilled veggies and humus.
I’ve also done this recipe on the outdoor grill, it comes out very good but you need to make sure that your grill grates are very clean and well oiled. Otherwise this turns into a stuck on bread and flaming nightmare! I especially like this recipe since I can whip it up with stuff from the pantry and it gives me a measure of self sufficiency since “I don’t need no stinkin’ oven” to whip up a warm tasty doughy treat!

I’ve heard of grilled pizza. I wonder if you could do that too.

I’ve made that before using this same recipe. I find it works best when using toppings that don’t need to much cooking. My favorite is roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, and a little balsamic vinegar. I cook the first side, flip it, and add the toppings. Give another minute or so and it is ready, it is so good!
